It's Sometimes the Small Victories.

Just some notes on things that I am proud to have done on this tour. Much to the shock of everyone, maybe even myself, I have not needed to SAG since August 5. The next day was the longest day on the tour, 184.9 kms and from there I have been blessed with strength, decent health and weather and good friends and encouragement. It feels good to heal.

I am still down 133kms. That means I have cycled 98% of the tour of Sea To Sea. I'm not going to be able to make up that distance before the tour ends. I'm not sure just yet how I feel about that.

What I am very proud of that each day I got up and rode my bike. Whether I finished, SAGed or SAG-Hopped, I never refused to try.

God has blessed me in my weakness and provided all that I needed.

Thank you Gayle for an exhilarating ride this summer! Thanks for sharing all your rider insights, for stopping to smell the roses, and once in a while, taking the road less travelled to seek out shiny objects. That has made all the difference.

SO proud of your SAGless weeks! You go girl!

Blessings in your post C2C journey, Tetcy

You are the poster child for the C2C. Every one knows that the super fit can do the C2C and yet some of them fell by the wayside. Maybe God was sending them a message. He sent a lot of messages this summer and here you are. I have told every one I know this summer, You have to read Gayle Harrison's blog, it is a story of the underdog fighting back and reaching for the prize. The question is what prize and wasn't it about helping the poor and not winning the "Tour de whatever"? I have read your book from cover to cover and enjoyed every minute of it. Thanks for letting us be part of your journey. Hope to see some final comments and pictures of the last days from your blog. Enjoy the rest of your summer. That bike needs a tune up now and you need a break for at least a week. God bless.

Can you hear me clapping?
I am so proud of you. Loved the blog, the humour and getting to know you through your words. If there was an award for persistence, strength in weakness and best photos it should go to YOU .

Hey!
You don't know me but I have read every one of your blogs with great interest. My husband and I were support in 2005, I would have loved to have had you along then, your humour and "stopping to smell the roses" (and have a coke)was just what any tour needs. Congratulation. give yourself a big hug.

Gayle--
You did it! You accomplished something you set out to do and despite a few bumps here and a sag ride there, you made it to the end. You should be very proud of yourself. I will miss reading your daily blogs and seeing this beautiful country through your eyes. I wish you all the best in all of your post c2c adventures. As for me, I've finally gotten my own bicycle repaired, was able to get back onto it, and took it for a short ride. It's just the beginning....thank you for all you've done for this combined poverty effort and for being such an inspiration to me, and to many others, who've followed your journey this summer. You truly are a blessing to this world. Peace,
Ann--Grand Rapids
