When I first contemplated doing the Sea To Sea ride, there were two people who immediately got on board and said "Do it. I'm here to help." First was Heather Fieten, a delightful woman who had been a volunteer support for the 2005 Sea To Sea. She's amazing and immediately had fund-raising ideas and if she was able to volunteer on the trek she would but no matter what she would be at the finish line to bring me home. She then introduced me to John Vander Steen. He's a teacher at Fanshawe in the electricians program. He completed Sea to Sea 2005 and this week he registered to do the 2008 trek. I didn't know John-other than just at church- but he immediately said that, with what he did know about me, I could do this adventure.
As I committed to do Sea To Sea, started training and this blog, other people have offered so much support, Art & Heather Mulder, Holly Wallace, Tracy Fox and Jeff Lantz. You can often see their encouraging comments here on the blog.
So this is the team, so far- Heather F, Art & Heather M, Holly, Jeff, Tracy and of course John and me. If you want to join in, let me know.
This is a great group of people and I am truly looking forward to getting to know them better through this journey. I am blessed.
