It's a steep indoor cycling track that is really cool and freaky at the same time. Today, Canadian icon, Rick Mercer, decided to take a ride on this track
Being a member of the local media has it's advantages on days like this as I decided this might be a good opportunity to get some Sea To Sea information and exposure to our national TV station the CBC. I headed down to the velodrome, joined Rachel from our radio news department and sure enough got a few minutes of Mr. Mercer's time.
He was great. Very interested in what I was planning on doing this summer and introduced me to his producer who I handed a package of information and sponsorship stuff. You never know what will happen...but if you don't ask you may miss an opportunity!

Gayle, you rock.
So the question we're all asking, did you ride on the 'drome?
Take note Edmonton will soon be home to a new indoor velodrome as well. It'll replace the 333.33 meter concrete outdoor one we've got at the moment.
